Nutella twist makes a great, quick sweet treat that fits perfectly to your coffee! You can try it with different fillings.

S o it's the first post in 2017! I'm so happy to welcome you guys in the new year! I also want to thank you for the support you gave me during the last few months :*

The first recipe I wanna share with you this year, is this easy Nutella twist. I needed a quick cake, as we're going to have some guests on our new apartment, and since most of our stuff in still in the boxes, I had to find something quick, easy and delicious.

The dough is perfect, smells like vanilla, with a hint of butter, and it's so nice to work with! I made this roll with nutella, as I had a half full jar, standing in the kitchen, but I'm sure it will taste delicious with other fillings, like jams, peanut butter or even nuts! The lemon glaze gives it a nice finish, and breaks the sweetness. Definitely worth baking!

Cake
  1. In the mixing bowl, combine flour and yeasts. Add the rest of the ingredients (except for the butter), and knead the dough, add the melted butter at the end and knead the dough long enough, so it's elastic and soft.
  2. Form a ball, and transfer it to the greased bowl. Cover with the kitchen towel and leave in the warm place, until it doubles the size, for around 1.5h.
  3. After the dough has risen, knead it shortly. Roll out the dough into 40 x 40 cm square. Spread the thin layer of nutella. Roll the dough, like a swiss roll. Using the sharp knife, cut your roll lengthwise, leaving one end uncut. Bride the dough together, connect the ends.
  4. Place the roll on the baking pan, covered with baking sheet. Cover with the kitchen towel and leave for another 30 min.
  5. Bake in 180ºC for 25 min. Cool to the room temperature and ice with the lemon icing.
Lemon icing
  1. Combine all of the ingredients until smooth.
